FORUM WALKING GROUPS
Currently we provide a series of short Town Walks based around the towns of Ryedale, along
with somewhat longer Country Walks moving into the more rural areas. These are organised by
volunteer leaders and are totally free.

As it is not possible for the walk leaders to check each walk prior to the issue of this programme, we would ask all members participating in the walking group to contact the designated walk leader at least 2 days prior to the walk for more detailed information and likely walking conditions for each walk. This will enable you to judge whether you consider the walk suitable to your physical abilities and to confirm whether you wish to participate.
Suitable clothing and footwear must be used for these walks especially in winter months.
As we normally make a short break during our walks some refreshments and drinks should be carried. Where we intend to incorporate a pub lunch as part of the walk this will be clearly stated.
We will endeavour to supply transport for those walkers without their own cars but would ask you to provide reasonable notification to the walk leaders (min. 48 hrs) to enable them to make the necessary arrangements. As fuel costs continue to rise we would suggest car sharing wherever feasible and for those travelling as passengers to make a contribution towards travel expenses, £2/£3 being the suggested minimum amount depending on walk location.
Should you encounter any problems contacting the walk leaders please contact the walks co-ordinator Terry Wray on 01653 693635 who may be able to assist.
All walks commence at 10.30am unless otherwise stated. Where bus services are used please check times with walk leader.
